Brett Erickson, a long time VW race car driver, constructor and enthusiast, managed and performed
construction and fabrication work to transform the #12 VW GTI into a race car. Erickson Motorsports
is proud to represent Volkswagen of America and their active interests in the world of motorsports.

Volkswagen and the Northern California Dealer Ad Association, in association with Erickson Motorsports,
are campaigning the #12 2001 spec V6 GTI in the Speed World Challenge Touring Car Series.

Brett Erickson ran custom fabricated engine side mounts in combination with the VF pendulum mount
(fitted July 03) to meet his need for firming up the motor mounting points and limit engine movement
known for causing side effects such as "wheel hop" and engine clunking on hard accel and gear shifting.

Then in October 2004 Brett fitted the new VF-Engineering replacement side engine mounts to his race car.
as seen above

There was a noticeable difference right away just driving through
the paddock with the lightweight flywheel. On the track, downshifting
through the gears while braking was precise and every up shift was
rock-solid and very positive. The mounts completely removed the wheel-hop
that we were getting while trying to put the power down coming out of the
tight hairpin corners. The VF Engineering mounts are very compact compared
to the bulky stock pieces and are engineered to withstand the high stress
of racing - Brett Erickson 16Nov04

The engine mounts were awesome! I could put the power down coming out of
the tight hairpin corners without wheel-hop. The car wouldn't miss a beat
when I would jump the curbing and land back down full throttle (not good for
the axles). Down shifting through the gears was good and every up shift was
very positive! Very nice job on the engineering of these parts! - Brett Erickson 10Nov04
