With more than 12 years experience in the forced induction industry, it was only natural that VF would branch out into turbo kits. With the naturally aspirate R32 being a prime candidate for an FI upgrade, VF's relationship with GIAC USA, along with its use of state of the art technology, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and Superflow air flow bench testing technologies show that it has laid the ground work for this R32 turbo system.
Through exhaustive testing, VF found that the combination of the GTxx turbo, larger injectors and fuel pump means there's not much room to make big horsepower gains through chip tuning alone. By combining Garrett Turbos GT-T3 series turbo with VF-Engineering hardware and GIAC software, VF now has been developing two unique and fully-engineered Big Turbo Kits to offer VW R32 owners.

The RSS-32 kit is built around the Garrett GTxx turbo and proprietary GIAC software. VF's own cast manifold, uprated fuel pump, larger EV14 Bosch fuel injectors and GIAC software provide an affordable and streetable upgrade for R32 owners. The more aggressive RSR-32 kit uses the same components as the RSS-32 kit, but utilizes greater boost and an air/water aftercooler to take power levels to supercar territory.
Garrett's GTxx turbo is ideally suited to the 3.2 engine and features improved aerodynamics and a water-cooled ball bearing cartridge. This combination provides a dramatic turbo spool and a corresponding increase in operating efficiency. The 3.2 liter 24V technology exhibits a high volumetric efficiency and with the lowered compression ratio, engine power is efficiently enhanced with forced induction. When it comes to modern turbocharger technology, the Garrett GT-series cannot be beaten. In short, through exhaustive testing and turbo impeller speed sensor measurements, VF believes there is no better-matched turbo for the R32 than Garrett's GTxx.
VF-Engineerings design and development on the VAG 2.0T FSI turbo upgrade kit has set the pattern for VF's development phases in manifold design and turbo ancillary development as shown in the pics below.
As is typical for a VF-Engineering kit, fit and finish are OE-quality and the same can be said for drivability. In simple terms, the VF-Engineering RSS-32 Turbo System is fully complete and comes with everything needed for a high quality installation. VF provides a cast alloy manifold that fits like stock and seamlessly mates the GTxx with OEM studs and copper lock nuts to the R32 cylinder head. The turbocharger unit is plumbed with stainless oil and water feed and return hard-lines manufactured by VF-Engineering to suit OEM fitment specifications. All new gaskets, crush washers and single use parts are provided. A VF-custom custom downpipe is used to connect the turbocharger to the to the exhaust system. For fuel delivery, VF chose to increase pressure with an in-line pump system and OEM spec'd high flow rate, direct drop in fuel injectors capabale of supporting far greater power levels.
Every aspect of this kit has
been fully engineered for high quality fitment and highly demanding
performance and expectation. VF's in-house horizontal, turning
and milling CNC's and plastic molding plant, GIAC's industry
reputation and track record, and Garrett's reliability have
been fully exploited to create a product with internationally
un-rivaled material technology, quality, and performance.
The RSR-32 kit is built around the RSS-32 kit combined with new GIAC software a self contained air/water aftercooling system. The RSR-32 kit takes the R32 motor to power levels beyond the expectation of most enthusiasts and may require a DSG clutchpack upgrade.

Performance, reliability, and an OE feel are major factors in the extensive R&D carried out by VF-Engineering. The custom and proprietary GIAC software supplied with this kit safely realigns all fueling and engine management parameters. Unlike other forced induction solutions, VF-Engineering's kit is designed to work safely within VAG's OEM parameters, thus minimizing the likelihood of spurious diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) or check engine lights (CEL's). GIAC software is installed quickly and easily via their new CAN-compatible flashing tool.
"CAN Switching" is the latest technology released from the GIAC labs, giving the user an ability to safely switch between ECU program modes. "Race" mode enables the user to take advantage of more aggressive programming afforded by higher-octane fuels, "Kill" mode immobilizes the vehicle for anti-theft purposes, and "Valet" mode softens throttle response for those times when the user would rather not fully enable his or her vehicle's available performance.
