Rear engine mount |
| |
VFA06-01 MSRP: US$ 200.00
For all VAG type 5 chassis: Mk5 2005.5 >up
Description:
The VW factory rear engine mount was designed as a soft flexible
mount, to provide a very comfortable drive. It's drawback was the large amount
of engine movement it allowed under torque load and on hard acceleration.
Engine movement decreases stability under high performance driving
conditions and gear selection. We guarantee you will feel the difference
when using this mount.
To reduce this movement VF-Engineering made a complete replacement
billet mount fitted with molded, high durometer polyurethane
inserts. The mount is constructed from billet aluminum and supplied
with high tensile hardware. Which means the stock mount will snap before
the VF-Eng mount even bends. Fitting should take no more than 20 minutes
maximum.
This high performance mount provides a dramatic difference in
the stability of the car when accelerating and braking hard.
The effect is far greater than you get by just changing your bush inserts.
Made from billet aluminum, under the severest conditions this mount will
bend whilst the OE mount will snap. Gear changing under hard acceleration
is also greatly enhanced. It makes a terrific difference giving you much
greater control over drifting and wheel spin reduction for dragging. |

Engine side mount (6 cyl) |
| |
VFA06-02 MSRP: US$ 200.00
For all VAG type 5 chassis: Mk5 2005.5 >up
Description:
The VW factory Engine side mount connects the engine to the chassis and was designed as a soft flexible mount, to provide a very comfortable drive. A drawback is the high amount of engine movement under torque load and on hard acceleration. This engine "slop" greatly decreases stability and smoothness under high performance driving conditions and rapid gear selection.
The factory mount is constructed from a die-cast alumuminium mount which houses a large soft rubber bush with a vulcanised cast strut. The rubber bush contains a viscous oil cavity to abosrb shock. The 1-piece OEM rubber bush does not completely fill the pocket inside the mount casing - leaving it prone to break under severe driving conditions. The drawback of the OEM design for 'performance minded' drivers is that long term stresses from power enhanced engines tends to cause premature wear of the both the driver and passenger side engine mounts: which either leak their viscous dampner becoming very sloppy or the aluminium casing cracks completely.
VF-Engineering designed, tooled up and manufactured a complete
new replacement, containing specially desinged molded high durometer polyurethane
bushes. The mount is constructed from billet (ingot) aluminum and supplied
with high tensile hardware. Billet is physically twice as strong as cast
and this mount is designed for strength. Fitting should take no more than
60 minutes. |

Trans mount |

VFA06-04 MSRP: US$200.00
For all VAG type 5 chassis: Mk5 2005.5 >up
Description:
The VW factory transmission mount was designed as a soft flexible
mount, to provide a very comfortable drive. It's drawback was the large amount
of engine movement allowed under torque load and on hard acceleration. This
engine "slop" greatly decreases stability and smoothness under high performance driving conditions and rapid gear selection.
The VW factory mount is hydraulic and constructed from rubber vulcanized onto a steel plate. The rubber cavity contains a viscous oil which dampens shock and vibration loaded onto the mount via the transmission. Typically over a period of time failure occurs when the rubber cracks leaking out the oil. VF-Engineers chose to redesign this mount by eliminating the oil and designing the mount using a single piece of polyurethane instead of rubber. The new design is setup for longevity and stability.
VF-Engineering designed tooled up and manufactured a complete
new replacement containing a molded, high durometer polyurethane insert.
The mount is constructed from billet aluminum and supplied with the highest
tensile hardware available. Fitting should take no more than 30 minutes. |
